EVERYONE CAN BEAT A DRUM
Can’t play a note? No problem. Learning to drum with the Baobab
Tree’s master musicians is fun for all ages and abilities, breaking
down barriers and building confidence – as well as instant musical
communities. Drumming improves co-ordination and concentration,
encouraging co- operation, teamwork, and stepping up to a challenge.

Taking part in an experience of West African music, drumming, or dance is education and entertainment rolled into one dynamic package. Since 2003, the artists under the boughs of the Baobab Tree have taken time out between national and international performances to share their musical roots with schools, community groups, and corporations around the UK.
MUSIC: THE UNIVERSAL LANGUAGE
In
West Africa, every life event has its own music. Through the medium
of live shows, interactive presentations, and workshops in drumming,
dancing, or traditional song accompanied by the Kora, the Baobab Tree’s
artists use authentic instruments to demonstrate and share aspects
of their original culture that are accessible and enjoyable for everyone
that takes part.
